from fayetteville

A pitbull and boxer keep me company as I borrow an old high school friend's computer for a moment of reflection time... I'm in a quiet neighborhood in Fayetteville, NC-- ironic considering the largest US military base lies just miles away. I continue to spin through a large variety of life realities and from each conversation I continue to learn more about people, myself, emotions and life in general.
Another layer: I was fortunate to see Bodyworlds2 at the museum of science in Baltimore, and I don't think I've ever taken so much time as then to read almost every word of the exhibit. Our bodies are truly miraculous, and to contemplate how the body and brain interact with our surroundings to sculpt us each into who we are, on a constantly changing basis, is... fun. I enjoyed the exhibit's combination of biology and philosophy, weaving scientific detail amidst poetic reflection spanning through history.
I enjoyed being among many others passing through the museum that day, and imagining the lightbulbs being set off in each one of us... the new doors of possibility as knowledge fires more synapses and other forces yet unforseen lead us along the way

Y eso...

Back to the region of my roots: east coast USA. Familiar smells evoke floods of old memories and emotions and I enjoy the intrigue as I contrast those with the Amanda that walks these streets today. As always, I stack the balance... sensing those aspects that twist me-- endless lines of cars, strip malls, often sullen faces, many rushed and noncommunicative bodies with those aspects that enliven me-- the most inspiring of friends and family that are deeply and meaningfully negotiating the fast lane highways of this existence. In just one week, I've experienced the vibe of an NIH biochemistry lab and a high-powered PA production company, and listened of the efforts and visions of a group of Harvard Int'l Education grads... and am humbled by the endlessly giving nature of all so graciously hosting me. Conversations dip far and wide, and I revel in the infinite challenges placed before us... coaxing us to more fertile soiled-roots and out-of-orbit stars.

Spiraling on...

Months have passed, and soon I'll be emerging from the 'cocoon' of the Navajo rez to the bustling business of US east coast. Ganado has provided me a nourishing space to wrestle with, and arrive at, some essential core questions and a smattering of freeing 'ah-ha' moments. I've been blessed with hours in the desert expanses infused with timeless indigenous wisdom and blissful interactions with very alive and searching souls in this intimate community.
Alas, the road calls me on... in this last week, I struggle with the pangs of separation and various fears that sneek in, but profound life resides in these tensions...
So, if you're in DC, Baltimore, Philly, east PA, NYC, Boston I'll be in the neighborhood at some point in the next several months. Be in touch: 928.814.8690.
Walk in beauty:)
